Kristi Capps - Bio
A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, her ballet training includes the School of American Ballet, Harid Conservatory and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. While at UNCSA, she was chosen to study and perform with the Hungarian State Ballet School in Budapest, Hungary. Upon her graduation, Kristi was a member of the Atlanta Ballet for three seasons and then joined Cincinnati Ballet. Rising quickly through the ranks to Principal, Mrs. Capps delighted audiences in many lead roles including Swanhilda in Coppelia, Kitri in Don Quixote, Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, Giselle in Giselle, Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cinderella in Cinderella and Diamond in George Balanchine’s Jewels. Her repertoire also includes works by choreographers such as Twyla Tharp, Val Caniparoli, Lynne Taylor-Corbett, Trey McIntyre, Kirk Peterson, Stanton Welch and Jorma Elo. In 2002, Kristi danced the role of the Sleepwalker in the recreation of George Balanchine’s La Sonnambula under the direction of Frederic Franklin, CBE for the Balanchine Trust Archives. Mrs. Capps also danced as a principal with the Chautauqua Ballet Company in New York under the direction of Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux. In 2008, she performed the leading role in George Balanchine’s Chaconne with The Suzanne Farrell Ballet at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC As a guest artist, she performed with many ballet companies and galas such as the International Ballet Festival of Miami, Florida, International Dance Festival in Vail, Colorado, and with Angel Corella and Stars of American Ballet in Spain. Kristi performed original works by Luca Veggetti at New York City’s Guggenheim Museum “Works in Process” series as well additional works of Veggetti’s with the Morphoses dance company in Paris, France. As a teacher she has been part of the faculties of the Cincinnati Ballet Academy, Colorado Ballet Academy, Sweatshop Dance, and Colorado Conservatory of Dance, as well as guest taught at Universities and ballet academies throughout the Country. Additionally, Kristi is a representative ambassador for “Be Present” a Colorado based yoga apparel company. Kristi served as ballet mistress in residence for Kansas City Ballet’s 2013-2014 season during the production of Dracula as well as a repetitor for its Spring Production of Cinderella.
Dmitry Trubchanov - Bio
Dmitry Trubchanov grew up in Saint Petersburg, Russia. He studied ballet at the famous Academy of Russian Ballet (the school of the Kirov Ballet). After eight years of hard training, in 1993, Mr. Trubchanov joined Kirov Ballet at the Mariinsky Theatre as a corps member. During his five seasons with the company, Dmitry danced numerous soloist roles and toured extensively around the world.
In 1995, Mr. Trubchanov was invited as a guest artist to perform with Universal Ballet Company in Seoul, Korea.
In the late nineties, while touring in the United States, Dmitry was offered a contract with Cincinnati Ballet. At Cincinnati Ballet, Dmitry danced numerous works by world-renowned choreographers and rose quickly through ranks to become a principal dancer.
In 2004, Mr. Trubchanov was featured in the recreation of George Balanchine’s “La Sonnambula”, which was filmed for the Balanchine Trust archives. Also, he was a part of documentary “Do Not Go Gently” featuring legendary Frederic Franklin, CBE. It aired on PBS in 2007 and was nominated for the best documentary at the Wisconsin Film Festival.
In 2009, Dmitry moved to Denver, Colorado and joined Colorado Ballet. He was a principal dancer with the company until his retirement in 2015.
During his career, Mr. Trubchanov has performed in various galas and festivals around the world, including: “The Stars of the Kirov Ballet” held in Innsbruck, Austria and Syracuse, Sicily, “International Ballet Festival” in Miami, Florida and “International Dance Festival” in Vail, Colorado. Also, he was a guest star at a several gala performances in Fukuoka, Japan.
Currently Mr. Trubchanov lives in Kansas City, MO with his wife and their son. He is on the faculty of the Kansas City Ballet School and serves as a ballet master in residence for the Kansas City Ballet.
Diana Stetsura - Bio
Diana Stetsura graduated from a prestigious Vaganova training school under Professor Ludmila Saharova. After graduating with honors, she was accepted as a soloist into the Kremlin Ballet Theatre in Moscow where she was coached by the world-class ballerina, Ekaterina Maximova. While dancing in the Kremlin Ballet Deanna was invited to represent the company in Maya Plisetskaya’s gala at the Bolshoi Theatre. Ms.Stetsura was a principal dancer for the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus, Columbia Classical Ballet in South Carolina, and also danced as Soloist with Ballet Internationale in Indianapolis, where she was coached by Irina Kolpakova, ABT’s Ballet Mistress. Diana was a Principal dancer for the Milwaukee Ballet for seven years.
Ms. Stetsura has performed lead roles in productions such as Don Quixote, Carmen, La Sylphide, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Allegro Brillante, Agon, Giselle, The Sleeping Beauty, Romeo and Juliet, La Bayadere, Raymonda, Scheherazade,Esmeralda, Cinderella, and Le Corsaire among others. She earned the prestigious Diaghilev Prize at the first international competition in Moldavia. She also received the highest award in the country of Belarus for the best stage debut for her performance of the title role in Giselle. She also appeared in three films in Belarus, filmed while dancing with the company, on Belorussian television. Diana earned a Second place at the prestigious ballet competition, “Arabesque” for her contemporary piece, which was created on her by the same choreographer who choreographed all of the dancing for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Ms. Stetsura was the lead dancer in Samson et Delila at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, performing a role that was created on her by world-renowned choreographer, Ken Von Heidecke. He also created the title role in Cinderella for her, which she performed with the Chicago Festival Ballet. She also had the privilege of a lifetime to work with the Prima Ballerina Assoulta, Maria Tallchief, on these roles. While performing with the Milwaukee Ballet, Ms. Stetsura danced leading roles such as Odette in Michael Pink’s Swan Lake, Marie, Snow Queen and Arabian in The Nutcracker, Gertrude in Hamlet, Dulcinea in Don Quixote, Lilac Fairy, Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, Nikiya in La Bayadere, Titania and Helena in Midsummer Night’s Dream, Raymonda , Agon, Esmeralda and Fleur des Leis in Esmeralda. She also worked with choreographers, such as Val Caniparoli, Stephen Mills, Bruce Wells, Kathryn Posin, and Margo Sappington, who created a piece for Ms. Stetsura in her world-premiere ballet, Common People, a project started by William Shatner. Diana was a three-time participant in the International Gala, “The Evening of Stars”, in Denver, Colorado. She shared the stage with stars from English National Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Houston Ballet, and many others. Diana performed many leading roles around the World, in countries such as Germany, Switzerland, Spain, China, Japan, Ireland, France, Poland, Taiwan, Canada, Ukraine, and others. She has made many guest appearances both teaching and dancing, all over the United States. Diana is a on the Ballet faculty for trainees at Joffrey Ballet in Chicago. She is also a Master Instructor for the prestigious, multiple award-winning Academy of Dance Arts. Diana was a judge on the prestigious International Ballet Competition WBAC-Grand Prix and also directed WBAC Grand Prix finals in Chicago. Diana was also invited to judge YAGP regionals in Chicago. She earned the Best Teacher award at YAGP, WBAC, UBC. She has been invited to teach in China and Japan.
In addition to her performance and teaching accomplishments, Diana is very proud of having earned her law degree from Kuban State University in Russia.
